Good god, where do I even start with this subject? For starters the building of Film and television should be next to Theater department building and not next to the Journalism one. The amount of actual courses we have in common (I mean actually related to our vocations) with Journalism are so incidental that we would be better off spending more time with people from the art faculties. The communication studies are really interesting but they are too theorical for our career, and whenever the teachers try to relate the content to Filmmaking it ends up feeling forced or poorly thought-out. Maybe it's just me but I would prefer to spend more time to brush up on the skills required to my craft than studying more to have critical thinking but not actually doing anything. I honestly don't have any plans, but I would like to travelled south and visit the so called Hielos Eternos. Probably because that summer trip has been planned in my household for ages, but never got the chance to do it. Although, lately my mother has been saving and pushing for my dad to take us, my sister and me, there since they feel like they will be too old for the trip if we dont do it now ( for the record, both of my parents are on their 40's, like come on folks, you are still young). If that plan falls through, I guess I'll stay on my home playing videogames until christmas (don't judge me, those games had been stacking up on my desk since last year, and I'm still haven't try Dark Souls, for me to understand how much I've been missing out) and then plan some trips or parties with my friends. My favorite food is kind of bland but it’s almost the same thing I order whenever I travelled to another part of the country, also I’m not fond of spicy food, so I just like a warm cazuela. I like more the one with chicken than with meat, most because, unless it’s made on my house, cazuela with meat has too much nerve. I tried to cook cazuela once with my sister but I ended up eating French fires with chicken, and I didn’t cook the chicken either. First off, I don’t cook, I know I can do it, it’s just I don’t like it. Some people say is relaxing, but I find a bit stressful to look for the food no to get too much salt or overcook, and it’s really a lot of work for something that doesn’t last 10 minutes for me. I have the recipe to make cazuela on a notebook, but I stick to noodles, rice and steaks because those plates are easier to make. And I know cazuela isn’t hard to cook to begin with. To be honest, I can’t think of a postgrade studies for a career as a filmmaker. I know there are postgraduate courses but unless I’m studing critic theory, I find the idea of specialize myself in editting (which I believe is non existant in Chile) like a lose oppurnity to learn something else. For example, I’ve heard some editors find more resources to develop the tone and rythm of a scene because they are either musicians or practice sound related projects. Sadly, I’m deaftone as you can get, cant even hum a tune properly. I’m split between finishing my first career, Literatura Hispanoamericana, that I dropped for Cine y televisión, and learining programming for videogames. The first one because I wanted to become a Spanish teacher, because I love literature and   I liked teaching and learning new ideas and concepts, and above all discussing them. I would like to work as an editor for a film in the future, or any audiovisual content like advertising, television, etc (but mostly film, because national televison in general pay less for the editor's work and his job is very underrated). I realized while working in a short film, since I study Cine y televisión in ICEI, the work I enjoyed the most in the filmmaking process was the editing of the material in the comfort of my room with a cup of tea. It sounds a bit out of touch and lonely but it really isn’t.  Ultimately, I depend on the work of several people for the realization of the short, and my work consist in taking all that effort to create the film everyone intended to make and more.  Although post-production is the most time consuming part of the whole process (the shooting of a film might take thee weeks to two months, while post-production can take over a year), I find it to be the less stressful.
