Summer Vacation


I honestly don't have any plans, but I would like to travelled south and visit the so called Hielos Eternos. Probably because that summer trip has been planned in my household for ages, but never got the chance to do it. Although, lately my mother has been saving and pushing for my dad to take us, my sister and me, there since they feel like they will be too old for the trip if we dont do it now ( for the record, both of my parents are on their 40's, like come on folks, you are still young).

If that plan falls through, I guess I'll stay on my home playing videogames until christmas (don't judge me, those games had been stacking up on my desk since last year, and I'm still haven't try Dark Souls, for me to understand how much I've been missing out) and then plan some trips or parties with my friends.

I like to read more during summer, or at least the entire bookcase I've filled since I entered the university and didn't have time to read. There are some shows and movies I've been wanting to see, some of them just to say I watched them, ("catching up" is a social activity, you can look it up) although I would never understand how people find the time to see so many shows during the year. I only watched three tv shows during this year, and one of those was a "rewatch"...and it was for an university course...about tv shows.

    My brother used to play dark souls and he were always dead. I think he couldn't finish the game ajajajaja but I think is not too difficult because of the videos on youtube

A country I would like to visit

I would like to visit Canada, because in the future I would like to assist to a film school in Vancouver. I dont know much about Canada, except canadians speak French only in some areas but they also speak english, so at least they would understand a bit of what I have to say. I know it's cold on winters and usually rains a lot, but I was born on winter so it doesnt bother me. I never like warm/arid weathers anyway (so studying in México or L.A. is out of question), but I like the coast weather better.  Like I said, I would love to study filmmaking in Vancouver but I dont think I would like to live there. Basically, I would prefer to live on a place where people at least speak my native language. I would like to do every little thing a tourist does though, like eat different food and drinks, visit traditional places or learn other costums, and maybe teach the natives that it doesnt matter who you pronounce quinoa whatsoever (a personal crusade of mine).

The Wind That Shakes The Barley Review

I didn’t like much the film because I feel like the director focus a little too much on the duality of the two brothers fighting for the liberation of Ireland and their opposite views on how the conflict should be resolved. Basically, one brother is willing to compromise with England and the other doesn’t.   They both have very good reasons to fight, like when the english soldiers gratuitously killed a neighbor of theirs, but we don’t spent much time to know the people they are fighting for besides the one "hockey-like" game they are all playing at the beginning of the film.  At one point, one of the brothers, Damien, shot a friend he knew his entire life, who betrayed him and his brother. And then he tells his future wife about the time he went to vist the mother of his friend, to tell her where she could find her son’s grave. My future job

I would like to work as an editor for a film in the future, or any audiovisual content like advertising, television, etc (but mostly film, because national televison in general pay less for the editor's work and his job is very underrated). I realized while working in a short film, since I study Cine y televisión in ICEI, the work I enjoyed the most in the filmmaking process was the editing of the material in the comfort of my room with a cup of tea. It sounds a bit out of touch and lonely but it really isn’t.  Ultimately, I depend on the work of several people for the realization of the short, and my work consist in taking all that effort to create the film everyone intended to make and more.  Although post-production is the most time consuming part of the whole process (the shooting of a film might take thee weeks to two months, while post-production can take over a year), I find it to be the less stressful.
